SEVIRI Images, Products & Time Series (data courtesy of Eumetsat)

Data Availability

SEVIRI data over the RADAGAST region were collected from 1st December 2005 (when the ARM Mobile Facility started operating in Niamey), through to 11th January 2007 (when the AMF facility was decommissioned). Data for March 2004 and for part of March 2005 were also collected in support of dust event studies. Missing data within these date ranges are listed here.

SEVIRI sensor bands are at 3km resolution, except for HRV (1km), and are acquired every 15 minutes:

Notes

  • All dates/times are in UTC
  • SEVIRI image/product times are ~ 2min 20 sec earlier than nominal acquisition times
  • Browse tools require Javascript and reasonably up to date web browers
  • For on-line help with the browse tools click on the '?' button, located top right in each browser window
  • Browse tools are cross-linked so that users may switch between products for the same date/time
  • The Dust Product is generated from the IR 8.7, 10.8 & 12.0 µm bands using the Eumetsat dust product algorithm
  • The Pseudo Visible Product is generated by mapping the 1.3µm (near-IR) channel onto red, 0.6µm onto green and 0.8µm onto blue using a EUMETSAT algorithm
  • The Water Vapour Product is generated by mapping the brightness temperature difference between the 6.2 µm and 7.3 µm bands onto the red and blue channels and the 6.2 µm value onto green, using a EUMETSAT algorithm
  • The Split Window Product is generated by mapping the brightness temperature difference between the 10.8 µm and 12.0 µm bands onto the red and blue channels and the 10.8 µm value onto green

GERB

Data Availability

Data over the RADAGAST region will be collected for all of 2006 (and well into 2007) as and when they are generated.
Version 3 ARG and HR data are received via ftp from RMIB in near-real time, with about 1 to 2 hours latency.
Edition 1 ARG data (quality controlled Version 3 data) are received from GGSPS, with about 40 days latency.
